Hi everyone. I have a review here today for you all. I’m going to be reviewing a company called Prestige Flowers.
They say diamonds are a girls best friend but I think flowers and chocolates are too. Prestige flowers very kindly sent me a bouquet of 12 red roses. I applied through a blogging website and I got a reply back within a couple of days saying that I could collaborate with them. All correspondence via email was positive and very helpful. The bouquet arrived very swiftly. I’m going to explain my love for flowers now.
I’ve always liked flowers like most ladies do. I spent some of the time growing up with my Nan and Grandad and both of their gardens- front and back were always blooming with beautiful flowers. My grandparents used to take me to the local garden centre when I was growing up and we would look around at all the flowers and plants. My Nan’s favourite flowers were roses. In there front garden they had a lot of roses in a whole lot of colours. Their gardens looked absolutely beautiful and very appealing to the eye and very inviting. My Nan sadly passed away from secondary Breast Cancer on the 17th Match 2015. Most women would say that roses are their favourite flower and my favourite flower is roses. Not just because they are beautiful but also because they have a meaning to me and bring back many happy memories to me. I’m now going to review the bouquet that I was sent.
As I said earlier on in this post the bouquet arrived very swiftly the next day. It was well packaged in a box then the bouquet cellophane and then paper with like a damp cloth in it to keep the flowers wet. I received them at around 7pm at night but that was due to the postman not knowing our address. I was stunned when I opened the box at how beautiful the flowers were. In the box was also a box of chocolate truffles, such a lovely touch. I immediately put them into my biggest vase where they fitted and looked perfect in. There was 12 red roses in like a dark red with red glitter on them like it’s been sprinkled over them and there was also a love heart on a stick placed in the middle of the bouquet. They also came with a sachet of flower food which I used. Also in the box was a flower care guide on how to look after the flowers. In the guide is diffrent instructions for different types of flowers. There was a lovely quote written in it:-
” Roses are a classic sophisticated choices and with over 20,000 varities they never cease to surprise”.
Great saying and yes roses do surprise but I never actually realised that there were so many varieties of roses. The roses started to get a dark edge. I did wonder if they were dead but they wasn’t as it’s an admired characteristic of their red rose variety. I have had to remove some discoloured petals but ive had them for a week now. They last so much longer than a bouquet say you may buy at a supermarket in example. The roses heads did start to droop but that’s a tendency that they have. That was easily rectified though by placing the newly cut stems in an inch of boiling water for 30 seconds and then placing back in a vase. I did remove some leaves that were low down in the water line. Receiving these flowers was so lovely and really cheered me up and put a smile on my face. It’s amazing how a bouquet of flowers can instantly lift your mood. And to top it all off I also recieved a box of chocolate truffles and a £5 voucher for my next purchase. The roses screamed romance and Valentine’s day for me. The chocolate truffles were nice. You get 4 in a box.
