Where Have I Been? Update!

Hi all.

I want to apologise for being AWOL on my blog for about 3 months but I’ve simply not had a chance to write any blog posts.

So i’m going to update you on everything that’s been happening.

November last year I was diagnosed with Glandular Fever. This really made me quite unwell & required 3 hospital trips. It took me about 3 months till I started feeling better. It wiped me out completely especially being that I suffer with Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

February was my birthday and I turned 36 (nearly 40, middle aged 😮) and i had a lovely day spent with my loved ones and was spoilt rotten.

This year I’ve really suffered with my chronic fatigue syndrome, being very fatigued but also Insomnia, both doesn’t make sense but I wasn’t falling asleep till around 4am, not good at all.

In March we went away to Mallorca, Spain for a week’s holiday, just the 4 of us and had a really lovely time. We did vlog everyday for our YouTube channel but i think I’ll do a separate post about it. Whilst we were there my sleeping pattern improved which was fab. Once we returned home my fatigue as got so much worse, no energy at all and always needing to sleep.

Recently, I’ve seen my surgeon who I’m under in regards to my Diverticular Disease. He said he was going to sort everything out which I was so pleased about, after 18 years of abdominal problems I feel like it’s all going to come to an end, FINALLY. He wanted me to have a CT scan as he thinks my problems are caused through me having surgical adhesions. Unfortunately I couldn’t have the CT scan done due to me being allergic to the contrast they need to use therefore I had an MRI scan of my abdomen & pelvis. I had to drink over a litre of powerful laxatives which in the past made me constantly go to the toilet, TMI I know but it had to be done. This time unfortunately it did nothing leaving me constipated and my abdomen being very distended, hard and painful for 4-5 days. I saw my surgeon just under 2 weeks ago for the results of the scan and a review and thankfully my scan didn’t show anything sinister. He said he’s going to operate on me keyhole and look in my abdomen and remove the surgical adhesions, he thinks I may have a hernia so will deal with that too & he’s also going to be taking a look at my stomach as when I eat I get very bad chest pain. He said if I need any bowel removing or something else bigger he will photograph it, wake me up, counsel me and then arrange for more major surgery to be done. He doesn’t want to put too much strain on my body by doing one massive operation.

The kids are on school holidays for Easter & it’s currently Easter Sunday as I’m writing this so Happy Easter 🐣 to you all, hope you enjoy it.

I want to write a blog post which is the reason I’m on my blog but thought I needed to give you an update first. I failed with my advent calendar posts but i may do an overall post so you know if the advent calendars were worth it & so it gives you an idea what to buy this year as after all, advent calendars will probably be back on sale in about 5 months time, this year has flown by already.

Anyway, I’m going to end this post here as as per usual I’ve wrote an essay, lol, but wanted to give you an update. Hope your all well too.

As always, thank you so much for reading.

Until next time,

Michelle.
